New York, NY February 15, 2022 - Castiron, an ecommerce platform for independent culinary artisans, is excited to announce that industry veteran Emmy Yardley has joined its senior leadership team as the Head of Product & Customer Success. Yardley will lead Castiron’s efforts to provide kitchen-based creators with the tools to better connect with their customers, sell their products, and grow their businesses.

“Emmy’s extensive experience, knowledge, and skillset are world class and I’m excited to be working with her," said Mark Josephson, Founder and CEO of Castiron. "Emmy shares our passion for helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses and I know our artisans will be better off for Emmy’s contributions.”

Yardley brings more than 15 years of product management experience to Castiron. Most recently, she was ChowNow’s Chief Product Officer and led product, design, and engineering initiatives to aid local restaurants' success. Before that, Yardley was Vice President of Product at Simple, and previously was Director of Content Discovery for Barnes & Noble’s Nook eReading and other digital products.

Additionally, Yardley is passionate about providing technology opportunities to women and people of color. During her year spent living and working in Santiago, Chile, she organized the country's first Rails Girls event teaching women to build web applications. She earned her degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University with concentrations in neurosciences and natural language processing.

“Castiron is truly unlike any other ecommerce website or tool. I look forward to making an impact in the online food artisan community and playing a key role in this dynamic team,” said Yardley. “I’m excited to dive in and support this rapidly growing and innovative platform.”

The company launched in October of 2021 and recently raised $6 million in seed funding from Bowery Capital, Foundry Group, and High Alpha. Castiron continues to grow both internally and externally, welcoming new culinary entrepreneurs to the platform and additional hires to support business development.
